Dear Friends and Neighbors,

Thank you for visiting my website. The 105-day 2013 regular legislative session ended on April 28 without agreement on a new two-year state budget. A special session was convened on May 13 and budget negotiations are ongoing. My focus is the same as it has been all year – crafting a sustainable budget that lives within our state’s means.

I invite you to browse this site for posts and information on a variety of issues, and as always, I hope you will contact me if there is anything I can do for you.

If you reside in the 16th Legislative District and don’t already receive my Eastsider’s Report e-newsletter, I invite you to sign up by emailing me at mike.hewitt@leg.wa.gov asking to join. It’s a great way to stay updated on issues during legislative sessions and throughout the year.

Please let me know if you have questions or feedback about the issues facing our state, or if I can help you in any way. Thank you for the honor of serving as your state senator.

Sincerely,

Mike Hewitt

Take a tour of the 16th District!

In September of 2012, I recorded a video highlighting the culture and beauty of our 16th Legislative District. Stops include Prosser, Dayton, Waitsburg and Walla Walla. Topics discussed include southeast Washington’s agriculture, wine industry and unique sense of community. If you’re interested in watching the video, just click here or on the image below.
